Welcome to L'Art de Chantou
The full culinary spectrum of African cuisine.
Some people speak through words. Chantou speaks through food.
At the heart of L'Art de Chantou is Chantal Mwananwe, a chef whose kitchen is her canvas and whose food is her language. Through every dish, she brings together the richness, diversity and soul of African cuisine, creating food that is as beautiful to experience as it is to share.
But L'Art de Chantou is more than a restaurant. It lives within her mother’s home — a house filled with the warmth of family and generations of memories. A home where siblings gathered, children grew, and nieces and nephews filled the rooms with laughter, stories and life. A place where food was never simply something placed on a table, but a way of bringing people together.
Today, those doors open to a wider table.
Come for the food. Stay for the feeling. Leave with a memory.

A vast and beautiful spectrum
Not one place, one tradition or one flavour — three ways of looking at what African cuisine can be.
The philosophyFood as language, food as art
Chantou's kitchen is her canvas. Every dish is thoughtfully created and made with love — food that is as beautiful to experience as it is to share.

The culinary approachA vast and beautiful spectrum
African cuisine is not confined to one place, one tradition or one flavour. It is shaped by different cultures, memories, ingredients and experiences — interpreted through Chantou's hands.
One continent, many kitchens
Four movements
The story, the philosophy, the inspiration and the approach — the shape the house tells itself in.
The story
Chantou and the home her restaurant grew inside — her mother's house, and the table that has always been at the centre of it.
The philosophy
Food as language and food as art. Every dish is thoughtfully created and made with love; every gathering becomes part of the story.
The inspiration
Family, heritage and memory. Siblings, children, nieces and nephews — rooms filled with laughter, stories and life.
The culinary approach
The full spectrum of African cuisine: shaped by different cultures, memories and ingredients, interpreted through Chantou's hands.
The rooms
The main dining room, the covered terrace, and a private room that can be taken on its own.
